International driving licence
The international driving licence is issued by the Automobile Club du Luxembourg to any person who satisfies the following two conditions:
Owns a driving license generated by a member state of the European economic area (*)
Resides in Luxembourg
In order to obtain this license, the applicant will need to bring the following documents to ACL:
A valid driving license issued by a member state of the European Union or of the European economic area (*), or a recent copy compliant to the original
A recent certificate of residence (less than 3 months old) issued by the applicant’s communal administration

The length of validity of the international driver’s license depends on that of the national license, but anyway cannot go beyond 3 years. The administrative charges for issuing the international license amount to €14 for ACL members (€25 for non members).
