The Cyclist's House is born

With the creation of the Cyclist's House, ACL is more than ever a major player in mobility.

For nearly 90 years, the Automobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL) has been focusing on information, training and education for road users. The signing of the Cyclist's House Charter on Friday, July 16, 2021, between the ACL, the Service de la Coordination de la Recherche et de l'Innovation pédagogiques et technologiques (SCRIPT) of the Ministry of Education and the Fédération du Sport Cycliste Luxembourgeois (FSCL) is a further step in this direction.

"As a key player in mobility in Luxembourg, ACL promotes multimodal and individual mobility that respects everyone and is committed to greater tolerance between users. This project is a real opportunity to provide a framework for training by bringing together all the players and a network of experts in one place, on our Mondercange site," insists ACL director Jean-Claude Juchem.

The Cyclist's House will also benefit from ACL's expertise in areas such as electromobility of two-wheelers, assistance and breakdown services such as "Bike assistance" for cyclists in case of incident. Free for members, this offer allows them to have their bike repaired on site or to be dropped off at their final destination with a simple phone call. There is considerable scope for the development of the Cyclist's House to ensure harmonious cohabitation of all road users.

By providing information on the advantages of cycling and its various practices, by providing assistance to users, by training current and future users, and by participating in the public debate on mobility, the Cyclist's House appears to be the missing link between users and the public authorities at a time when soft mobility is making its mark.
