Reveal of the ACL Challenge Top 20

The first round of the ACL Challenge came to a close on Sunday evening after two weeks of intense competition in which 230 people took part. The top 20 will compete in the next two rounds of the event starting in mid-April.

For a fortnight, people aged 15 and over could take part in the ACL Challenge. At the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM, the participants had to complete a time-lap on the Red Bull Ring track. Short but hilly and technical circuit in the heart of the Austrian region of Styria, the participants had to go for the last hundredths to be placed at the top of the ranking. The competition was high, as shown by the final ranking with the top 20 being held in six tenths! We can already tell you that the competition will be harsh in the coming rounds.

The 20 selected drivers will now meet on 24 and 25 April at the Mondercange karting site where simulators will be available. Same equipment and same setup for everyone, it will be up to the driver to make the difference in this demanding exercise.

Each participant will be allowed 10 minutes of practice on a given circuit in order to become familiar with the simulator. The participant will then take part in two 15-minute sessions on two different circuits, trying to achieve the best lap-time.
At the end of the two 15-minute sessions, points will be awarded. The person with the most points will get the chance to represent Luxembourg and the ACL at the FIA Motorsport Games 2021!

In order not to favor any participant, the circuits on which the time trials will be held are kept secret.

The points won in this simulator session will be kept for the third and final round taking place on 15 May in go-karts. The driver with the most points from the second and third rounds will be crowned winner of the first ACL Challenge edition.

The Automobile Club du Luxembourg would like to thank all the participants who took part in the event and pushed each other to the limit to achieve the best possible ranking!
