These 20 select drivers will meet this weekend on the karting site at Mondercange where simulators will be available from 24 to 25 April. With everyone having the same equipment and settings, the drivers’ skills will make the difference more than ever in what promises to be a close competition. In fact, during the first race, the top 20 times were separated by just six-tenths of a second - so there was very little difference between the competitors!
For this second round of the ACL Challenge on simulators hired from Beweng Security Solutions, the counters are reset to zero and the drivers will not have any room for error. Once again, a Mercedes AMG C63 DTM from the Merbag Luxembourg dealership will be used for this event so that participants do not have to adapt to a new car. As during the first event, banners of the other event partners, City Concorde, Codex and POST Luxembourg, will be displayed along the course.
Each participant will be given 10 minutes of practice on the circuit in order to become familiar with the simulator. This will be followed by two 15-minute sessions on two different circuits where the participant will try to achieve the best lap time. Points will be awarded at the end of these two 15-minute sessions. The driver with the best score will win the right to represent Luxembourg and the ACL at the FIA Motorsport Games 2021!
The circuits on which the time trials will be carried out are kept secret in order to ensure that no participant has an advantage.
Competitors will keep the points they win in this simulator event for the third and final event to be held on 15 May in karts. The driver with the most cumulative points from events two and three will be crowned the winner of the first edition of the ACL Challenge!
