The good news is that the government subsidy for the purchase of bicycles and electric bikes that helped boost sales in 2020 and made it easier for the residents of Luxembourg to switch to alternative forms of mobility, has just been extended until the end of March 2022. Remember, this is a one-off grant for the purchase of a bicycle or electric bike (pedelec-25), amounting to 50% of the price of the cycle, VAT excluded and up to a limit of €600.
What is not so well well known is that the municipalities have also become involved as they also want to support the efforts of their citizens to improve their quality of life by promoting means of transport that are good for their health and the environment. So they too are offering aid measures that can be combined with the government's.
Because of the increasing number of grants and subsidies, which vary depending on the bicycle you buy and your municipality of residence, our mobility specialists have been looking all across the Grand Duchy for information and have compiled a list, municipality by municipality, of the subsidies you are entitled to on your next bicycle purchase. For greater clarity, we have also included this information on a geographical map so that you can locate at a glance the municipalities concerned and the type of subsidy they are offering. To complete this information, we issued a leaflet (French version) explaining all you need to know about e-bikes, take a look at it before making your decision! Some more questions? ACL Mobility Loft welcomes you from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Bertrange, 54, route de Longwy or per phone at +352 450045-4012.
