BMW 7 Series: giving you the VIP treatment

Published on 29.08.2023

Discovering the new BMW i7 is a bit like a European landing in the United States for the first time - it's all about excess.

Of course, we could go on for hours about the different engine variants that the new BMW 7 Series has to offer, and there really is something to suit all tastes and every driver profile. In addition to the i7 xDrive60 electric version, the Bavarian manufacturer has had the good sense to keep a 740d version equipped with a 3-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine (299 bhp), as well as two petrol PHEVs (the 750e and the 760e offering 489 and 571bhp respectively). We'll let you judge for yourself, though, since each of these engines offers very good levels of performance and fuel economy.

Even the most experienced of drivers will agree that the real pleasure with this new 7 Series comes from sitting in the back in VIP mode. It certainly knows how to pamper its passengers, to say the least, and the interior is extremely spacious. Welcome aboard your new limousine, complete with all the latest technologies.

For work and leisure

It's easy to get your bearings with the smartphone-sized screens on the inside of each door. Between the ventilated massage seats, which extend horizontally on the right-hand side, and the darkening curtains on the windows, there’s plenty of fun to be had here, but the star of the show really is the roof. You'll no doubt come across the 31.3-inch screen suspended from the ceiling, which unfurls Hollywood-style, soon enough. At just over £2,000, the option is well worth it for the spectacle alone! As for the system itself, you’ll have a Wi-Fi connection for access to TV and video-on-demand platforms, with a bonus HDMi socket for connecting an accessory. Suffice to say that even the most hard-working could be tempted by a few moments’ relaxation in the back of this surprising 7 Series. Of course, this abundance of luxury comes at a price, that price being between €150,000 and €200,000, depending on the model and options chosen.
