After a long wait, BMW is finally launching a 100% electric version of its successful SUV. Based on the X3, the iX3 features an electric motor positioned on the rear axle. Its underfloor battery has a capacity of 80kWh (74kWh useful) with a WLTP range of 460km and an average consumption of around 19kWh/100km, meaning that the government bonus is limited to €3,000. From an aesthetic perspective, the front end features a redesigned bumper and a full radiator grille, while the wheels are fitted with aerodynamically designed rims. A few blue accents complete the iX3's distinctive style, while the more observant will notice that the ground clearance is 2cm lower to improve aerodynamics and therefore reduce fuel consumption at high speeds. The iX3 is a very smooth and comfortable drive that also, of course, offers an enjoyable level of onboard silence. The handling, meanwhile, is first-class, with light, precision steering and no torque effect, since only the rear wheels are driven. The iX3 is certainly an attractive proposition in the premium electric SUV segment, with prices starting at €66,236.
