The ACL is now offering a travel insurance that can be taken out online or over the counter, in collaboration with Bâloise Assurances, to assist its members with their travel plans.
With the summer holidays fast approaching and the vaccination campaign well underway, people everywhere are experiencing a growing desire to get away. After all, there is no denying that this sort of insurance is very important these days!
Marc Barnich, as the Manager of the ACL’s Travel & Mobility Advisory Department, can you tell us briefly what this new insurance product entails?
The purpose of this insurance policy is to provide ACL members with a flexible and competitive product that can be adapted to their needs, whether they require insurance for a one-off trip or on an annual basis. ACL members can, at any time, take out a policy that is flexible in terms of not only its duration but also its coverage, giving members the option of taking out travel cancellation insurance, baggage loss insurance or both.
What added value does this partnership offer?
We have joined forces with Bâloise Assurances to combine our respective expertise, the ACL's knowledge of its members and their needs and Bâloise's expertise in insurance and innovation making for the perfect synergy.
Can you tell us a little more about the digital aspect?
The ACL firmly believes in the importance of evolving to keep up with the changing uses and expectations of its members, and even exceed them by offering this type of digital insurance. Our insurance is therefore available directly online, through the assurances.acl.lu website, a digital platform that will enable ACL members to take out an insurance policy in just a few clicks, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have always known how to take advantage of major technological developments to allow us to offer more mobile products and services that are better suited to the changing environment in which we live, and this new offering is just one of them. Those who so wish will also have the option of taking out insurance at the ACL’s offices in Bertrange, where our team is on hand to welcome you from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
What makes this new service innovative and interesting for an ACL member?
We have focused on the convenience, flexibility and quality of the offering. Going on holiday should be all about enjoyment and relaxation, which is why we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to take out our travel insurance, which you can do in just a few clicks and under 3 minutes. Should you ever need to make a claim, simply complete the editable document on the homepage of the new assurances.acl.lu website. After all, safety does not have to be complicated!
What does the product cover?
This is a flexible product that allows ACL members to take out cancellation and/or loss of luggage insurance on either a one-off (single trip) or an annual basis (covering all trips taken throughout the year). Cancellation insurance covers policyholders in the event of illness, redundancy, promotion, separation or divorce up to €50,000. Baggage insurance, meanwhile, covers the loss of suitcases, cameras and sports equipment when travelling, up to a value of €3,500. We also offer the option of insuring up to 8 people on a policy. Another of the benefits we offer is that the member will immediately receive their insurance certificate in PDF format when they take out the policy online.
