For the 50th anniversary of this always awaited tyre test carried out by ADAC with the support of the ACL, a new component has been introduced into the overall assessment. The score now takes into account for 70% driving safety criteria and 30% of the environmental performance of each tyre. The Continental Premium Contact 6 tops the list in terms of safety on wet roads and the Falken Ziex ZE310 Ecorun on dry roads. But it is Michelin that takes the prize for durability with its e.Primacy. 10 tyres receive a good overall rating, followed by 21 tyres rated as fair, 19 tyres with obvious weaknesses and finally 7 tyres that receive an "insufficient" rating because they are too weak on wet roads. Rating: Good Rating: Fair Rating: Shows obvious weaknesses Rating: Insufficient Full details and comments on this test will be available in the next edition of our Autotouring magazine, due out on March 27th.
